Our client is a market leader in the Highways Maintenance Industry, responsible for looking after over 50,000 km of the UK’s highways network.

The Commercial Team is responsible for ensuring that the company raise accurate, timely claims for payment to the client, that they recover the amounts due to them under the contract, and that to control WIP and rejected claims.

The Quantity Surveyor is responsible for managing the supply chain; in particular, the assessment and payment of monthly applications for payment in accordance with legislation.

The team works closely with the client to provide evidence to support claims and build trust and collaboration, as well as identify opportunities to improve value for both parties.

Role and your responsibilities;

• Work closely with the Operations team and the Client to ensure that Ringway raise accurate, timely claims for payment.
• Required to build a collaborative working relationship with the supply chain to ensure that the contract remains sustainable for both parties, timely applications for payment are received, disputes are avoided, and evidence is provided for client audits.
• Work closely with the Operations team to improve margin and ensure accurate record-keeping.
• Responsible for managing the work and performance of commercial support staff within their team to help in the delivery of these objectives

Formal qualifications required
An accredited Quantity Surveying course by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS), the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB), the Chartered Institute of Civil Engineering Surveyors (CICES) or the Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).

Experience and Skills

• Experience in the industry
• Good understanding of the NEC Suite Contract Documents and experience with NEC term service contracts
• Highly skilled in using Microsoft Excel
• Experience in Confirm Asset Management systems and CEMAR contract management software
• Experience in using Papyrus and SAP cost management systems
