Quantity Surveyor – Residential Developer

Location: Edinburgh / East of Scotland

Peace Recruitment is working with a multi-award-winning residential developer that is looking to appoint a Quantity Surveyor to its established commercial team in Edinburgh.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly respected, quality-led developer with an exciting pipeline of residential projects across the East of Scotland. The client is open to Quantity Surveyors from housebuilding, civil engineering, consultancy/PQS, or Tier 1 and Tier 2 main contracting backgrounds. Ideally, you will have at least two years of post-graduate experience and an interest in developing your career within residential development.

Key responsibilities

• Managing project costs from pre-construction through to final account
• Preparing budgets, forecasts and cost reports
• Procuring and appointing subcontractors
• Managing subcontractor payments and variations
• Monitoring project performance and commercial risk
• Producing valuations and regular CVR reports
• Working closely with construction, technical and procurement teams
• Supporting value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
• Ensuring projects are delivered within budget and to the required standard

About you

• Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Ideally, at least two years of post-graduate experience
• Experience within housebuilding, civil engineering, consultancy/PQS or main contracting
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Confident communication and negotiation skills
• Able to manage priorities and work effectively as part of a wider project team
• Keen to build a long-term career with a respected residential developer
