Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join a leading UK construction business delivering high profile data centre projects. Working within a specialist team, you will play a key role in the commercial management of complex, technically demanding schemes from pre-construction through to final account.

Quantity Surveyor roles & responsibilities

• Manage all commercial aspects of data centre construction projects.
• Prepare, review and administer subcontract packages.
• Procure subcontractors and manage tender processes.
• Monitor project costs, budgets and cash flow.
• Prepare valuations, applications for payment and final accounts.
• Identify, manage and mitigate commercial risks.
• Assess and negotiate variations and compensation events.
• Produce accurate cost reports and forecasts.
• Work closely with project managers, planners, design teams and site management to achieve commercial objectives.
• Ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.

Quantity Surveyor requirements

• Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
• Experience working for a main contractor.
• Experience working on data centres, industrial, commercial or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of standard forms of contract, particularly JCT and NEC.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Full UK driving licence.
