Quantity Surveyor – External Refurbishment, Cladding / Building Safety Remediation
Location: Hybrid (Dartford Office and Site Visits around M25)
Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 (DOE) + Package
About the Company
Our client is a leading specialist contractor delivering façade, cladding, remediation and building safety projects across the UK. Working with housing providers, developers and main contractors, they have built a strong reputation for delivering complex refurbishment and compliance-led projects that improve building performance, energy efficiency and resident safety.
Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of secured work, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team.
The Role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will take commercial responsibility for multiple projects from pre-construction through to final account. Working closely with operational teams, clients and subcontractors, you will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered profitably while maintaining excellent client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing project costs and budgets throughout the project lifecycle
- Preparing valuations, applications for payment and final accounts
- Procuring and managing subcontractor packages
- Producing cost reports and forecasting project performance
- Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
- Negotiating subcontractor and client variations
- Supporting the delivery team on contractual and commercial matters
- Ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and company procedures
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
About You
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within construction, refurbishment or specialist contracting
- Strong commercial acumen with a proven track record of managing project profitability
- Experience administering and negotiating contracts
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Proficient in cost reporting and financial forecasting
- Full UK driving licence
Desirable Experience
- Social housing, façade, cladding, remediation, planned works or fire safety projects
- Knowledge of JCT and NEC forms of contract
- Degree qualified or working towards a relevant construction qualification
