RECRUIT-i | CONTRACT OPPORTUNITY
Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator
Cork, Ireland | Fully site-based | 6–8 months
The opportunity
Recruit-i is supporting an international project delivery client on a major construction programme in Cork. We are seeking a commercially astute, hands-on Quantity Surveyor / Contracts Administrator to support the site team across mechanical, electrical and associated construction packages. This is a practical delivery role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with construction teams, understanding progress on the ground and keeping commercial records and contract administration in good order.
The appointment is expected to run for 6–8 months and requires a full-time presence on site in Cork. The successful candidate will play a visible part in day-to-day project delivery rather than working in a predominantly office-based reporting role.
What you will be doing
Work alongside construction management and subcontractors to validate progress, quantities and completed works on site.
Support administration of subcontract packages, contract correspondence, records and commercial documentation.
Identify, record and assess changes, variations, potential claims and associated commercial impacts.
Prepare and maintain timely supporting information for contractual notices and change events, as applicable to the contract.
Assist with payment assessments, valuations, cost reporting and forecasting in collaboration with the wider commercial team.
Maintain clear records of site instructions, progress, delays and other matters with potential contractual or cost implications.
Build effective working relationships with the project delivery, engineering and commercial teams.
What we are looking for
Approximately 5–8 years of relevant quantity surveying, commercial or contract administration experience; demonstrable capability is more important than an exact number of years.
Experience of live construction projects, ideally involving MEP or complex industrial / life sciences facilities.
Confidence working directly with site teams and challenging or verifying progress and commercial information.
A practical understanding of variations, subcontract administration, valuations and contemporaneous records.
Sound communication skills, commercial judgement and the ability to work independently in a busy site environment.
Existing right to work in Ireland, or a clearly established lawful route to work there, will be required.
