Quantity Surveyor - Central London
A contractor is looking for a capable Quantity Surveyor to join its commercial team on two Zone 1 projects: a £30m Cat A refurbishment and decarbonisation scheme, and a smaller project involving structural modifications, underpinning, a new core and a vertical extension.
You will support the commercial leads while taking ownership of your own subcontract packages. This role needs someone who can procure and manage a package confidently, with the opportunity to build towards wider project responsibility.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include:
- Procuring subcontract packages, reviewing tenders and placing orders
- Managing package costs, valuations, variations and payments
- Tracking change and keeping package forecasts up to date
- Supporting cost reporting and commercial meetings
- Working closely with the project teams and senior surveyors
- Helping close out subcontract accounts
- An established QS with main contractor experience
- Proven ability to procure and manage subcontract packages
- Experience in refurbishment, fit-out or structural works would be useful
- Strong commercial organisation and clear communication
- Someone ready to contribute at QS level rather than seeking an Assistant QS position
£55,000-£70,000 base salary, depending on experience, plus package. The salary bracket is indicative and subject to confirmation.
