We are seeking an experienced Freelance Quantity Surveyor to join the commercial team on one of London's flagship residential developments. This is a landmark c.50 storey, 1,000 bed purpose built student accommodation (PBSA) scheme in East London, currently entering a key phase of construction. The successful candidate will have a strong background in RC frame high rise new build projects and be confident managing commercial activities on large, complex developments.
Key Responsibilities
- Commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement through to final account
- Preparation and agreement of interim valuations, variations and change control
- Cost reporting, forecasting and cash flow management
- Procurement and negotiation of subcontract packages
- Management of subcontractor accounts, payments and final accounts
- Risk and opportunity management
- Supporting the Commercial Manager in delivering the project within budget
- Liaising with site teams, design consultants and client representatives
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor on RC frame new build projects
- Experience working on high rise residential, PBSA or mixed-use developments
- Strong knowledge of subcontract procurement and commercial management
- Ability to work independently within a fast paced project environment
- Strong commercial awareness, negotiation and communication skills
