The role
This role offers the chance to take real ownership of project finances while working closely with senior commercial and operational teams.
You will be involved in the day-to-day commercial management of projects, helping ensure they are delivered profitably, efficiently, and in line with contractual requirements.

Quantity Surveyor – Project Exposure
You will work across a diverse range of projects including: Rail – Electrification, Permanent Way, Civils and associated Rail Systems, Civil Engineering – Enabling works, structures, and complex civils.
Quantity Surveyor – Key Responsibilities
- Manage project costs from pre-construction through to final account
- Prepare valuations, variations, and payment applications
- Procure subcontractor packages and manage accounts
- Monitor project expenditure and forecast costs accurately
- Assist with CVRs and monthly commercial reporting
- Support contract administration and risk management
- Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and clients
- Help identify opportunities to improve project profitability
Quantity Surveyor – About You
The company are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented surveyor who is confident managing commercial responsibilities and building strong working relationships.
You will ideally have:
- Experience as a Quantity Surveyor within the construction sector
- Strong understanding of cost management and procurement
- Good contractual awareness
- Strong numerical and analytical skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation ability
- A proactive, solutions-focused mindset
