Birmingham · Temporary · Remote working
Your new company
You will be joining a leading consultancy supporting the delivery of a major UK rail infrastructure programme. Due to ongoing requirements across its commercial team, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor with strong NEC contract experience to support a Signalling & Communications package. The position can be based in either Birmingham or London on a hybrid basis.
Your new role
As Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day commercial and contractual management of a major rail systems package. Your responsibilities will include:
- NEC3/NEC4 contract administration
- Managing applications for payment and payment assessments
- Managing compensation events and change control
- Preparing and maintaining commercial correspondence
- Cost forecasting and commercial reporting
- Cost validation and verification
- Risk and opportunity management
- Supporting procurement and tender activities where required
- Commercial assurance and governance
- Claims management and dispute avoidance
- Final account management and contract close-out
What you'll need to succeed
You will need strong Quantity Surveying and commercial management experience with demonstrable knowledge of NEC contracts. Previous experience within rail signalling, telecommunications, communications or rail systems would be highly desirable, although this is not essential where you can demonstrate strong NEC commercial experience within a relevant infrastructure environment.
What you'll get in return
You will receive a long-term 12-month+ contract, with the potential for extension based on ongoing resource requirements. The role is inside IR35, offers hybrid working from either Birmingham or London, and the rate will be dependent on your experience and suitability.
