Skilled Careers are working with a leading property services contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their commercial team in Worcester.

The business delivers planned maintenance, refurbishment, compliance and specialist property services across a range of public sector and highly regulated environments, including healthcare, education and commercial property.

This is a great opportunity for a Quantity Surveyor who enjoys having genuine commercial responsibility and is comfortable working across multiple projects within a structured, framework-led environment.

The Role

As Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management and financial performance of a range of interior, fit-out and refurbishment projects, typically ranging from £250k to £2.5m+.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the commercial delivery of projects from start through to final account
  • Preparing and reviewing valuations, forecasts and cost reports
  • Managing subcontractor accounts, applications and final accounts
  • Managing variations, ensuring accurate pricing and appropriate commercial justification
  • Preparing budgets, cashflow forecasts and CVRs
  • Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
  • Working closely with operational teams to ensure strong commercial performance
  • Ensuring compliance with contract requirements, Schedule of Rates and client procedures
  • Supporting audits, reporting and wider commercial governance
  • Building effective relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders

About You

We're looking for a Quantity Surveyor with a strong commercial background and experience working within property services, refurbishment, fit-out, construction or public sector environments.

You should have:

  • Proven experience working as a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience managing projects valued from £250k to £2.5m+
  • Strong subcontractor account and valuation experience
  • Good understanding of JCT and NEC contracts
  • Experience with cost control, forecasting and commercial reporting
  • Strong contractual and commercial awareness
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Good Excel and commercial systems knowledge
