Quantity Surveyor

I am working in partnership with a leading civil engineering and groundworks contractor to recruit an experienced Quantity Surveyor for a major, long-term construction project based in Bridgwater, Somerset.

This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially astute QS to join a well-established subcontractor working on a high-profile infrastructure scheme.

The Role:

This is a site-based position, where you’ll take a hands-on role in managing the commercial aspects of civils packages – including groundworks, drainage, roads, and reinforced concrete structures. You’ll work closely with site teams and senior management to ensure financial control and commercial success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Management of subcontractor packages and valuations

• Cost reporting and budget tracking

• Site measurement and valuation of works completed

• Preparation and negotiation of variations

• Supporting the preparation of interim and final accounts

• Working under NEC or similar contract frameworks

The Ideal Candidate:

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civils or groundworks subcontracting

• Strong understanding of construction contracts (NEC preferred)

• Commercially driven with excellent attention to detail

• Able to work autonomously in a site-based role

• Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management

Location:
