I’m currently recruting for a Quantity Surveyor to work for a family-owned civil engineering company in South Wales on a permanent contract.

Our client delivers service excellence, efficiency and compliance across the Construction and Waste sector specialising in the following sectors:

• Groundworks
• Waste Management
• Construction
• Demolition
• Transport & Plant hire

They are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience:

• 3-5 years civils and groundworks experience
• Ideally degree qualified or relevant HNC
• Ideally resides locally to the area
• NEC experience
• Full UK driver’s license

Responsibilities:

• Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for projects, considering materials, labor, and equipment.
• Procurement: Source and negotiate with suppliers and subcontractors to ensure cost-effective procurement of materials and services.
• Budget Management: Monitor project budgets and expenditures to ensure projects are completed within financial constraints.
• Contract Management: Review and administer contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
• Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to costs, contracts, and project delivery.
• Quantity Measurement: Measure and assess quantities of materials required for projects.
• Cost Control: Implement cost control measures to optimize project profitability.
• Reporting: Prepare regular reports on project finances, including cost forecasts and variances.
• Liaison: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination.
• Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.
