Quantity Surveyor – Structural Steelwork

A leading UK steelwork contractor is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to take commercial ownership of major structural steel projects. This is a great opportunity to join a well‑established and growing business.

Key Responsibilities

• Take full commercial ownership of projects after contract award

• Produce commercial budgets and strategies

• Support procurement of materials and subcontract packages

• Prepare, submit and agree monthly applications for payment

• Lead change control and price all variations

• Negotiate variation values with clients

• Manage and maximise project cashflow

• Monitor and control internal and external project costs

• Provide commercial and contractual support to project teams

• Ensure all contractual notices and procedures are issued correctly

• Prepare final accounts and monthly commercial reports

• Mentor junior commercial staff

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years’ QS experience

• Structural steelwork experience is essential

• Strong commercial and contractual knowledge

• Excellent communication, negotiation and organisational skills

• Degree in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management (preferred)
