Role Overview,
We're looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor with a background in scaffolding and bricklaying to join a well-established and growing team. This is a hands-on role covering the full commercial cycle, from tendering through to running multiple live sites, ideal for someone who wants genuine ownership over their projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing tenders and preparing competitive bids for new projects
- Taking and negotiating offers from clients and subcontractors
- Running commercial oversight across multiple live sites simultaneously
- Measuring and valuing bricklaying and scaffolding works
- Managing costs, budgets and profitability across projects
- Liaising with main contractors, clients and site teams to ensure commercial accuracy throughout each project
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within bricklaying and/or scaffolding
- Strong commercial acumen with tendering and bid management experience
- Confident managing multiple sites and projects concurrently
- Comfortable working PAYE or on a self-employed basis
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying (BSc), or HNC/HND in Quantity Surveying, Construction, or Commercial Management
- MRICS (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors) or working towards accreditation
- MCIOB (Chartered Institute of Builders)
- CSCS card (Professionally Qualified Person)
- CISRS (Construction Industry Scaffolders Record Scheme), if from a scaffolding trade background
- SMSTS or SSSTS
- Working knowledge of NEC/JCT contract forms
Package:
- £70,000–£75,000 (PAYE)
- £300–£350 per day (self-employed)
