📈 Genuine progression to Commercial Director
🏢 Specialist Interiors Contractor

Pace Recruitment is working with an established specialist interiors contractor operating across London and the South East looking for a Quantity Surveyor

Due to continued growth and a strong pipeline of projects, they are looking to appoint an experienced Quantity Surveyor with specialist interior packages.

This is more than just another Quantity Surveyor position. The business is looking for someone who wants to take on increasing responsibility and has a clear route towards Commercial Director as the company continues to grow.

The Quantity Surveyor Role

You will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from tender through to final account, working closely with clients, subcontractors, suppliers and the wider project team.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the commercial aspects of live projects from start through to completion.
  • Reviewing contracts, project budgets and commercial documentation.
  • Measuring works and checking quantities against tender allowances.
  • Preparing tender packages for subcontractors and specialist suppliers.
  • Managing subcontractor payments, variations and valuations.
  • Monitoring project costs and preparing regular cost reports.
  • Identifying commercial opportunities and potential risks.
  • Managing and negotiating variations.
  • Preparing, agreeing and closing out final accounts.
  • Building strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Working closely with senior management on the commercial performance of the business.
  • Taking on increasing commercial responsibility as the company continues to grow.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in speaking with Quantity Surveyors who have a minimum of 5 years' construction experience, ideally gained within a specialist subcontracting or interior fit-out environment.

You should ideally have experience with:

  • JCT contracts, including traditional and Design & Build.
  • Fixed-price contracts.
  • NEC forms of contract.
  • Subcontract procurement and management.
  • Measurement and valuation.
  • Variations and change control.
  • Final accounts.
  • Cost reporting and forecasting.
  • Working directly with clients and subcontractors.

A construction-related degree would be preferred, although relevant experience will be considered equally.

Most importantly, we're looking for someone who is commercially minded, confident dealing with people at all levels and wants to progress rather than simply move into another QS position.
