Rail Engineering (Track) Trainer 

Location: Mansfield / Nottinghamshire
Salary: £30,000 – £32,500 depending on experience
Hours: 37 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time

Are you an experienced Rail professional looking to move into training, or an existing Rail Trainer looking for your next role?

We are recruiting for a Rail Trainer to deliver and assess vocational rail programmes, supporting learners with both their practical skills and technical knowledge.

Previous FE teaching experience isn't essential. Candidates with current/recent rail industry experience are encouraged to apply, and teaching and assessor qualifications can be worked towards.

The Role

You'll deliver and assess rail training, working with groups and individual learners. You'll support learners with their portfolios, monitor their progress and help them achieve the required industry standards.

The role will involve a mixture of training, assessment and learner support, with the opportunity to continue developing your own teaching and assessing qualifications.

What We're Looking For

  • Level 3 qualification in a relevant Rail discipline
  • Recent hands-on experience within the rail industry
  • Strong technical knowledge within your area of rail
  • Maths & English to Level 2
  • Good communication skills and confidence supporting learners

An A1/assessor qualification and Level 4 teaching qualification would be beneficial, but candidates can work towards these.

£30,717 salary with a market allowance up to £32,500, 39 days' total leave, Scottish Widows pension and ongoing professional development.
