Analyse Local is a specialist GovTech business working with Local Authorities across England to help Business Rates, Council Tax and Revenues teams identify income, improve data quality and make better-informed decisions. We support more than 180 Local Authorities through data-led services, consultancy and deep sector expertise, with a strong focus on accuracy and measurable value for the public sector.

Our mission is to support fairness in commercial property Business Rates and help Local Authorities maximise the collection of income that funds vital local services. The Role

We are looking for a motivated and analytical Rating Analyst to join our Income Maximisation team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys detailed research, problem-solving and using data to identify opportunities that deliver measurable value for Local Authorities.

Working closely with Rating Managers, Analysts and Client Managers, you will research commercial property information from a variety of internal and external sources to identify missing and undervalued properties that may impact Business Rates revenue. You will play an important role in ensuring data accuracy, maintaining robust records and helping Local Authorities maximise income through high-quality referrals.

Key Priorities

Identify high-quality rating opportunities through detailed property research and analysis.

Maintain accurate, complete and well-documented data within internal systems.

Ensure referrals meet required quality standards and compliance requirements.

Work efficiently to achieve personal and team performance targets while maintaining quality and accuracy.

Support continuous improvement of processes, systems and methodologies.

Collaborate effectively with colleagues, clients and partner organisations.

Key Responsibilities

Property Research and Analysis:

Research and analyse commercial property data using a range of internal and external sources.

Identify potential missing and undervalued hereditaments that meet referral criteria.

Evaluate available evidence and determine whether opportunities should be progressed.

Compare and validate findings against existing datasets to ensure accuracy and reliability.

Maintain clear records of research activity and supporting evidence.

Data Management and Quality:

Accurately record, update and maintain information across company systems.

Ensure all property data is processed in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.

Support the ongoing maintenance of data integrity across research and delivery activities.

Complete quality assurance activities and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Ensure all referrals meet required evidential and compliance standards.

Collaboration and Communication:

Work closely with colleagues across Delivery, Client Management and Data teams.

Communicate professionally with Local Authority clients, partner organisations and external agencies.

Respond to enquiries and provide supporting information where required.

Contribute insights, findings and recommendations to support client outcomes.

Participate in team meetings, knowledge-sharing sessions and training activities.

Systems and Process Improvement:

Contribute ideas that improve research methodologies, workflows and efficiency.

Support the ongoing development of internal systems, tools and processes.

Identify opportunities to improve data quality, reduce manual effort and increase productivity.

Help embed consistent approaches and best practice across the research function.

Performance and Accountability

Take ownership of assigned research activity and deliver work in line with agreed priorities, quality standards and deadlines.

Use feedback, performance data and quality checks to continually improve accuracy, judgement and output.

Maintain a proactive approach to learning, asking questions and building specialist knowledge of Business Rates and Local Authority needs.

About You

We are looking for someone who is naturally curious, detail-oriented and motivated by uncovering valuable opportunities through data and research. You will be comfortable working with information from multiple sources and able to draw logical conclusions from complex or incomplete datasets.
