Our client, a reputable transport company based in Preston, is seeking a skilled RCV Technician to join their dedicated engineering team. Duties as a RCV Technician will include:
  • Service, diagnose, and repair RCV vehicles, with exposure to sweepers, tractors, and 7.5T vehicles
  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance to ensure vehicles meet safety standards
  • Support the engineering team by completing defect sheets, job cards, and compliance documentation accurately
  • Utilise diagnostic equipment effectively to identify and resolve faults promptly
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment
  • Work flexibly across shifts, including early mornings, days, and late shifts as required
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a RCV Technician, Plant Mechanic, PCV Technician, HGV Technician, or LCV Technician
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Heavy/PCV Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Full UK driving licence; PCV Category D licence desirable (training may be provided)
  • IRTEC accreditation or MOT tester licence is advantageous
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a meticulous approach to work
