SANZA Teaching Agency are working in partnership with a welcoming 2-form entry Catholic infant school who are seeking an experienced Reception Teacher to join their team from September 2026 on a maternity cover basis.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a confident and skilled Early Years practitioner to take on a Reception class within a supportive school environment that places strong emphasis on both academic achievement and pastoral care. Please note, this role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and requires proven classroom experience within EYFS.
The school is currently entering an exciting new chapter, with a newly appointed Deputy Headteacher who has recently taken over leadership. It is an excellent time to join and make a meaningful impact within a developing and ambitious leadership structure.

The Role
The school are seeking a confident Reception Teacher who can take full responsibility for a class and deliver high-quality teaching within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
Responsibilities will include:
* Planning and delivering engaging, developmentally appropriate EYFS lessons
* Taking full responsibility for class teaching, planning, assessment and observation
* Supporting early reading, phonics, communication and language development
* Creating a stimulating, safe and inclusive learning environment
* Monitoring pupil progress and implementing targeted interventions where required
* Maintaining high expectations for behaviour, learning and engagement
* Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Early Years team
* Building strong relationships with pupils, parents and staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
* Previous experience teaching Reception or within EYFS (essential)
* Strong understanding of the EYFS framework
* Confident classroom and behaviour management skills
* Ability to plan, assess and differentiate effectively within Early Years
* A proactive, positive and committed approach
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* A genuine passion for early childhood education and development
* Not suitable for ECTs - experience required
