Reception Teaching Assistant (SEN & Personal Care)

Contract: Full Time, Temporary
Salary: £16–£19 per hour
Salary dependent on experience and qualifications. Higher rates are reserved for candidates with substantial experience and/or relevant training. Pay is determined in line with school expectations and Agency Worker Regulations (AWR), where applicable.

Teach Now is recruiting a dedicated Reception Teaching Assistant (SEN & Personal Care) to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Fulham. This rewarding role involves providing 1:1 support for a Reception-aged pupil with additional needs, helping them settle into school life, develop confidence, and access learning successfully.

The school is looking for a compassionate and proactive individual who is comfortable supporting personal care needs and understands the importance of creating a safe, nurturing, and structured environment for young learners.

The Role

As a Reception Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support within a Reception classroom
• Support communication, engagement and emotional development
• Assist with personal care requirements when needed
• Encourage independence, social interaction and positive learning behaviours
• Support transitions, routines and structured learning activities
• Work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo and wider support team
• Help create a positive and inclusive learning environment

Requirements
• Previous experience supporting young children, ideally within EYFS or Reception
• Experience supporting pupils with SEN
• Comfortable carrying out personal care duties
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to remain calm, positive and supportive throughout the school day

Desirable Qualifications & Experience
• Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
• Experience supporting children with additional needs in a primary school setting
