A leading and growing accountancy practice is looking to appoint a confident and personable Receptionist / Administrator to join its busy Chester office. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a client-facing environment and takes pride in creating a welcoming and professional experience for visitors and clients.

Working alongside an experienced team, you will provide a high-quality front-of-house service while supporting the wider team with a variety of administrative and office-based responsibilities. This is a fast-paced and varied role where no two days are the same.

The successful candidate will be friendly, organised and confident, with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining excellent standards of client service. The role also offers opportunities to become involved in team events, staff activities and the wider culture of the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome visitors to the Chester office with a warm, professional and friendly approach.
  • Maintain a clean, organised and welcoming reception area and meeting rooms.
  • Arrange meetings and assist with diary and calendar management.
  • Answer incoming telephone calls and deal with client and visitor enquiries professionally.
  • Provide refreshments and general support during client meetings.
  • Provide administrative support to colleagues across the office.
  • Handle incoming and outgoing post and assist with general correspondence.
  • Process payments and assist with associated administrative duties.
  • Monitor and maintain office and stationery supplies.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records.
  • Assist with general office administration and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the office.
  • Support the organisation of team events, staff birthdays and new starter arrangements.
  • Assist with ad hoc administrative projects and tasks as required.
  • Help maintain a professional and positive environment for both clients and colleagues.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

  • Previous experience in a reception, administration or client-facing role.
  • Excellent customer service skills and a professional approach.
  • Friendly, outgoing and approachable personality.
  • Confident communicator with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Comfortable working independently while also contributing as part of a collaborative team.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office and general office-based systems.
  • Professional appearance and manner.
  • A genuine passion for providing an excellent client and visitor experience.
  • Previous experience within a professional services environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
