Recovery and Opportunities Coordinator

Single Homeless Project have a new opportunity for a Recovery and Opportunities Coordinator to join our team based in Islington. You will join us on a part time, permanent?basis, working 22.5 hours ?and in return, you will receive a competitive salary starting at £29,822.41 and rising incrementally to £32,034.46 per annum (pro rata).

About the Recovery and Opportunities Coordinator role:

Recovery is about more than addressing immediate needs. It is also about having somewhere to belong, opportunities to build confidence and skills, meaningful connections with other people, and the chance to take part in the community around you. As our Recovery and Opportunities Co-ordinator, you’ll help make those opportunities a reality for people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage in our St John's Mansions service. 

You’ll develop and coordinate our Recovery and Opportunities programme, creating activities and opportunities that reflect what clients actually want from their services and communities. You’ll work alongside clients, colleagues, volunteers and peer supporters to co-produce activities, build participation and make sure people are supported to get involved in ways that feel meaningful to them. You’ll also help equip others with the confidence, training and resources they need to deliver opportunities effectively.

A big part of the role happens beyond our services. You’ll build strong relationships with community organisations, local residents, statutory and voluntary-sector partners and other opportunities across Islington, opening doors for clients to access volunteering, education, cultural activities and wider community life. You’ll represent Single Homeless Project (SHP) at local forums and events, champion social value across our services and look for creative ways we can contribute positively to the communities our clients are part of.

Skills and experience we're looking for in our Recovery and Opportunities Coordinator:

• You have experience engaging and motivating people experiencing multiple disadvantage, including people who may have previously found it difficult to engage with services or opportunities.
• You can develop, coordinate and facilitate engaging groups, activities or programmes, and understand how to encourage meaningful participation from different people.
• You’re confident building relationships with community organisations, residents, colleagues and external partners, and can turn those relationships into practical opportunities for clients.
• You understand the importance of social value and social impact and can think creatively about how services can contribute positively to their local communities.
• You’re an engaging communicator who can work collaboratively across different teams, represent a service externally and bring people together around a shared goal.

Our attractive benefits package includes:

• A salary increase after successfully completing six month's probationary period
• A 37.5 hour working week including flexible working hours (core hours are 10am – 4pm) in non-accommodation services
• 25 days annual leave, increasing annually to the maximum 30 days (plus paid Bank Holidays),
