• Salary: £26,000–£32,000 DOE

Octagon Group is growing, and we’re looking for an ambitious Recruitment Consultant to join our team in Ampthill.

We specialise in recruiting highly skilled professionals for technology and engineering companies across the UK, Europe and the US. You don’t need previous recruitment experience or a background in engineering - we’ll provide the training and support you need to understand our markets and build a successful recruitment career.

What matters most to us is your attitude. We’re looking for someone who is hardworking, disciplined and eager to learn, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to retain and apply new information.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be trained to manage the full recruitment process, including:

• Learning about specialist technology and engineering markets.

• Building relationships with candidates and clients.

• Identifying and approaching talented professionals.

• Understanding job requirements and matching people with suitable opportunities.

• Writing engaging job adverts and candidate profiles.

• Conducting candidate screening calls and interviews.

• Coordinating interviews and supporting candidates throughout the hiring process.

• Developing new business and building a pipeline of prospective clients. 

What we’re looking for

Previous recruitment, technology or engineering experience is not required. We’re more interested in finding someone with the right attributes:

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Strong knowledge retention and a genuine willingness to learn.

• A hardworking and disciplined approach.

• Good organisation and time-management skills.

• Confidence communicating with different people by telephone, email and video.

• The resilience to remain consistent when faced with setbacks. 

Experience in sales, customer service, account management, hospitality or another target-driven environment could be beneficial, but it isn’t essential.
