Salary: £63,576 - £67,003 – 1 FTC
Hours: 37 hours per week
Location: Oxford and Hybrid working with Travel to local schools
About the Role
- We are seeking an experienced and motivated Regional Education Partner (English) to join the School Effectiveness and Governance Service. This is a key leadership role within Children, Education and Families, responsible for supporting school improvement, strengthening educational outcomes, and providing strategic challenge and support to schools across a designated geographical region.
- The successful candidate will likely oversee the North Oxfordshire region, covering the Bicester to Banbury (M40 corridor) area and supporting approximately 25 schools. This position is offered as a 1-year Fixed-Term Contract due to ongoing Local Government Reorganisation (LGR). However, there is a strong intention to convert the role into a permanent position once future arrangements are confirmed.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and support to schools within the designated region.
- Work closely with school leaders to drive school improvement and raise educational standards.
- Collaborate with the Service Manager to ensure accurate forecasting of service requirements based on identified school needs across the region.
- Monitor and evaluate school performance, identifying priorities for intervention and support.
- Ensure externally commissioned services deliver best value for public money and achieve agreed key performance indicators.
- Maintain compliance with all financial governance and procurement processes.
- Build effective relationships with schools, academies, trusts and key stakeholders.
- Support the delivery of the Council's education priorities and improvement strategies.

- Significant experience in educational leadership and school improvement.
- Strong knowledge of the English education system and current educational priorities.
- Proven ability to influence, challenge and support senior leaders.
- Experience of managing complex stakeholder relationships.
- Strong strategic, analytical and financial management skills.
- Commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people.
