Horizon Teachers are proud to be working in partnership with a leading Multi-Academy Trust to recruit an experienced Regional Finance Manager.
Supporting a portfolio of academies across West London, you’ll work closely with Principals, School Business Leaders and senior leadership teams to provide strategic financial leadership across multiple school sites. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced finance professional looking to take the next step in their career within the education sector, joining a well-established Trust where you will play a key role in shaping financial performance, ensuring compliance and supporting long-term strategic planning.
Due to the specialist nature of this position, we are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with previous experience working within a school, academy or Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) environment. Applicants should also hold, or be actively working towards, a recognised professional accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA or ACA, alongside proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar leadership role.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic financial leadership across multiple academies, working closely with Principals, School Business Leaders and senior leadership teams.
• Produce accurate monthly management accounts, financial reports, cash flow forecasts and financial analysis to support informed decision-making.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting and financial planning, ensuring effective financial management and value for money across the Trust.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal controls and audit requirements, maintaining high standards of financial governance.
• Support, mentor and develop finance colleagues while building strong relationships with key stakeholders and driving continuous improvement across the finance function.
What we’re looking for
• Part-qualified or fully qualified (or actively studying towards) ACCA, CIMA or ACA, with proven experience in a Finance Manager, Regional Finance Manager or similar financial leadership role.
• Previous experience working within a school, academy or Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) environment is highly desirable. Candidates with education finance experience will be strongly preferred.
• Strong experience producing management accounts, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and financial analysis, with advanced Microsoft Excel skills. Experience using financial systems such as Sage Intacct, Concur or similar ERP/accounting platforms would be advantageous.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and confidently influence senior leaders across multiple academies.
