Regional Operations Manager Yorkshire | Nursing Homes | Circa £65,000 + benefits

Leaders in Care is recruiting a Regional Operations Manager to support and improve the performance of a portfolio of nursing homes across Yorkshire.

This is a senior operational role for an experienced care leader who understands what good looks like in elderly care, clinical governance and commercial delivery. You will work closely with Home Managers to provide clear direction, develop strong leadership teams and ensure consistently safe, high-quality care.

The role. You will take responsibility for a group of nursing homes, supporting managers to deliver against quality, occupancy, workforce and financial targets.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading, coaching and holding Home Managers accountable for performance.
  • Maintaining high standards of person-centred care, safeguarding and clinical governance.
  • Preparing homes for CQC inspections and driving sustainable improvement where services require support.
  • Reviewing quality audits, incidents, complaints and action plans, ensuring lessons are embedded.
  • Supporting recruitment, retention, succession planning and capability management across the region.
  • Improving occupancy, managing local relationships and contributing to business development activity.
  • Monitoring budgets, agency spend, staffing levels and other key operational measures.
  • Building constructive relationships with residents, families, commissioners and external professionals.
  • Ensuring homes operate in line with CQC requirements, company policies and relevant legislation.
About you. You will be an experienced regional, operational or multi-site manager within the nursing home sector. You will be credible with Home Managers, visible in services and comfortable addressing underperformance directly and fairly.

You will need:

  • Proven experience managing multiple nursing homes or elderly care services.
  • A strong record of improving quality ratings, compliance and operational performance.
  • Sound clinical understanding, ideally with a nursing qualification and active NMC PIN, although experienced non-clinical operators will also be considered.
  • Experience supporting homes through CQC inspections, improvement plans and safeguarding matters.
  • Commercial awareness, including occupancy, budget management and agency control.
  • A practical, organised and hands-on leadership style.
  • Flexibility to travel regularly across Yorkshire.
Salary and benefits.
  • Circa £65,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
