Do you appreciate a great construction project and have the knowledge to discuss works with professionals? If so, this is a key field-based sales role responsible for driving profitable growth across the South region. This covers the wider areas of Portsmouth, Southampton, Guildford. The successful candidate will take ownership of an existing customer base whilst identifying and securing new business opportunities throughout the territory.
The ideal candidate will already be operating in a field sales, territory sales, key account or regional sales role within merchanting, construction products, building materials or a related sector. You MUST have a full UK driving license and live local to the Hampshire area to commute to Portsmouth weekly to meet with management.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and grow a portfolio of existing high level customer accounts.
- Develop strong relationships with contractors, builders, developers and key decision makers including Buyers and Procurement depts.
- Generate and convert new business opportunities across the region.
- Follow up quotations and project enquiries to maximise conversion rates.
- Build, manage and maintain a healthy sales pipeline with clear next actions.
- Work closely with our Projects Team and Internal Sales Team to ensure opportunities progress effectively.
- Support growth accounts, helping customers increase spend and engagement.
- Drive revenue growth and achieve regional sales targets.
- Support and work alongside the Worthing branch to increase customer activity and footfall.
- Gather local market intelligence and monitor competitor activity.
Experience and Skills
- Ability to discuss construction projects with professionals and decision makers
- Experience in field sales, territory sales, key account or regional sales role
- Driven, professional and motivated to manage own day to day duties
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
- Proven sales experience with a strong track record of success.
- Ability to balance independent fieldwork with collaborative team efforts.
Hours
Office Hours - 7am – 5pm Monday to Friday
Salary
£50,000 - £60,000 + OTE (circa £5-£8K)
