These opportunities are for a globally recognised manufacturer of industrial automation technology.
The business is a financially independent, globally establisehd organisation with 90+ years of history and a strong reputation for high-quality sensor, machine vision, industrial networking and software solutions used across a broad range of automated manufacturing and machinery applications.
The Role:
This is a technically focused, consultative field sales position with responsibility for the company’s full industrial automation product portfolio within your assigned territory.
You will manage an existing customer base while actively developing new business across machine builders / OEMs, system integrators and manufacturing end users.
Rather than simply selling individual products, you will work closely with customers to understand their machinery, processes and automation applications, identify the most appropriate technologies and provide technical guidance throughout the sales process.
You will have considerable autonomy across your territory, supported internally by a dedicated Sales Operations and Customer Service team covering areas such as quotations, stock control, logistics, supply chain and order administration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take full responsibility for sales turnover and commercial performance within your territory.
- Manage and develop existing customer relationships.
- Identify and acquire new customers and uncover new market opportunities.
- Understand customer applications and provide technical advice on suitable automation solutions.
- Develop opportunities across the company’s complete portfolio, including sensors, identification, machine vision, industrial networking, IO-Link and connectivity technologies.
- Manage the complete sales process from initial customer discussion through to closing.
- Identify additional potential within existing accounts.
- Implement regional sales, marketing and corporate strategies.
- Work closely with internal Sales Operations and Customer Service teams.
- Represent the business at trade fairs, conferences and industry meetings.
About You
- Experience selling or supporting industrial automation technologies or closely related technical products.
- Strong technical understanding of automation products and their applications.
- The ability to understand customer requirements and recommend appropriate technical solutions.
- Strong commercial, negotiation and communication skills.
- Experience managing and developing customer relationships.
- A proactive approach to new business development.
- The ability to work independently and take ownership of a geographical territory.
- A degree or comparable qualification in electrical engineering, STEM or a relevant technical discipline would be advantageous.
The role offers:
- Responsibility for a complete automation portfolio rather than a single product line.
- An established customer base combined with significant new-business potential.
- High levels of autonomy and ownership of your region.
- A technically challenging and consultative sales environment.
- Strong internal operational and customer-service support.
- The opportunity to join a financially independent, family-owned global manufacturer with a long-term approach to its employees and business development.
