Location: Ryde, Isle of Wight
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
Contract: Full-time | Permanent

Are you an experienced Registered Manager looking for a role where you can focus on delivering outstanding care rather than constant firefighting?

We are recruiting on behalf of a family-run care provider for a Registered Care Home Manager to lead a 13-bed residential service in Ryde, Isle of Wight, supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism.

This is a well-established, fully occupied service with a stable team and long-term residents, many of whom have lived at the home for several years. Rated Good by CQC, with an Outstanding rating in Caring, the home has built an excellent reputation within the local community for delivering truly person-centred care.

Situated close to the seafront and within walking distance of the hovercraft and ferry terminals, the location is easily accessible for those living on the Isle of Wight or commuting from the mainland.

This is an ideal opportunity for either an experienced Registered Manager or a strong Deputy Manager ready to take the next step into registration. With support from an experienced Operations Manager, you'll have the autonomy to lead the service while being backed by a supportive senior management team.

The Role

As Registered Care Home Manager, you will be responsible for the overall leadership and day-to-day management of the service, ensuring residents continue to receive safe, high-quality, person-centred support.

The home offers a calm, stable environment with no significant occupancy pressures or high clinical complexity, allowing you to focus on leading your team, supporting residents, and maintaining excellent standards of care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide effective leadership and day-to-day operational management of the home

  • Ensure ongoing compliance with CQC regulations and best practice

  • Lead, support and develop an established, long-standing staff team

  • Oversee medication management, risk assessments and DoLS applications

  • Maintain high standards of person-centred care and resident wellbeing

  • Promote a positive, inclusive and supportive culture throughout the service

  • Build strong relationships with residents, families, professionals and external stakeholders

  • Ensure the service continues to deliver outstanding outcomes for the people it supports

About You

  • Current Registered Manager or experienced Deputy Manager ready to step into your first registration

  • Experience within Learning Disabilities is preferred, although applications are welcomed from managers within residential elderly care, dementia or other adult social care settings

  • Strong leadership and people management skills

  • Good understanding of CQC regulations and quality standards

  • Practical experience of care planning, medication management, risk assessments and DoLS

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards) is desirable

  • Experience using Person Centred Software (PCS) would be advantageous

  • Comfortable commuting to or living on the Isle of Wight (please note accommodation and sponsorship are not available)

What's on Offer?

  • £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

  • Join a supportive, family-run organisation with an excellent reputation

  • Lead a small, stable 13-bed service with an experienced team already in place

  • Support from an experienced Operations Manager

  • Opportunity to make a genuine difference without the pressures often associated with larger services

  • A rewarding role focused on quality of life, meaningful relationships and person-centred care

If you're looking for a leadership role where you can genuinely get to know your residents, support a committed team and make a lasting difference every day, we'd love to hear from you.
