Registered General Nurse (RGN)

Dedicated and compassionate Registered General Nurse with experience providing high-quality, person-centred nursing care in a range of clinical settings. Responsible for assessing patients’ needs, planning and delivering appropriate care, administering medications safely, monitoring patients’ conditions, and maintaining accurate clinical documentation.

Key responsibilities include:

• Providing safe, effective and compassionate nursing care to patients with a range of medical and clinical needs.

• Conducting patient assessments and developing, implementing and reviewing individualised care plans.

• Administering medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed instructions and professional standards.

• Monitoring and recording patients’ vital signs, symptoms and changes in condition, escalating concerns appropriately.

• Working collaboratively with doctors, healthcare assistants, allied health professionals and other members of the multidisciplinary team.

• Supporting patients and their families by providing clear information, reassurance and emotional support.

• Maintaining accurate, confidential and up-to-date patient records.

• Following infection prevention and control procedures, safeguarding requirements, health and safety policies and relevant clinical guidelines.

• Responding appropriately to emergencies and changes in patients’ conditions.

• Supporting junior staff, students and colleagues where appropriate.

• Promoting dignity, independence, equality and patient choice at all times.

• Participating in audits, clinical governance and continuous professional development to maintain high standards of care.
