Registered Manager – Children's Residential Home

Location: Birmingham
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum + Bonus Scheme
Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday (9:00am – 5:00pm) with flexibility to provide on-call support when required.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Registered Manager to lead our Children's Residential Home. You will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the home, ensuring high-quality care, safeguarding, and positive outcomes for children and young people.

You will lead and develop a dedicated staff team, maintain compliance with Ofsted regulations, and create a safe, nurturing, and supportive environment where young people can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the home.
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations and Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
  • Lead, supervise, and develop the staff team.
  • Recruit, induct, and retain high-quality staff.
  • Ensure children receive person-centred care and support.
  • Manage rotas, staffing levels, and on-call arrangements.
  • Maintain effective relationships with local authorities, families, and external professionals.
  • Monitor safeguarding, health and safety, and risk management processes.
  • Oversee budgets, records, and reporting requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement and maintain high standards of care.

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years' experience working within children's residential care.
  • At least 2 years' experience in a supervisory or management role within a children's home.
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (or working towards).
  • Strong understanding of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding requirements.
  • Experience leading and developing staff teams.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  • Experience managing EBD and/or Learning Disability services.
  • Experience supporting young people affected by CSE, CCE, Autism, or other complex needs.
  • Experience contributing to Good or Outstanding Ofsted outcomes.
