The Role
We are recruiting an experienced and motivated Registered Manager to oversee a small adult care service supporting approximately 30 clients within the local community.
This is a hands-on management position, ideal for someone who enjoys combining strong operational leadership with direct involvement in the lives of the people they support.
The role will involve a balance of office-based management and visiting clients in the community. You must therefore be confident working independently across both environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the day-to-day operation of the service, ensuring safe, effective and person-centred care.
- Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, company policies and relevant care legislation.
- Lead, support and motivate the care team to maintain consistently high standards.
- Complete and review client assessments, care plans and risk assessments.
- Conduct community visits and build positive relationships with clients and their families.
- Manage staff rotas and ensure appropriate staffing levels are maintained.
- Oversee staff recruitment, onboarding, supervision, appraisals and ongoing development.
- Monitor staff performance and address any concerns appropriately.
- Promote a strong safeguarding culture and respond promptly to concerns or incidents.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure the service is fully prepared for CQC inspections.
- Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals, local authorities and other external agencies.
- Support the continued development and sustainable growth of the service.
Applicants must have:
- A minimum Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care, or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- At least two to three years' experience in a management position within a similar adult care, domiciliary care or community-based setting.
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding and person-centred care.
- Experience managing, supporting and developing care staff.
- Experience completing care plans, risk assessments, audits and compliance checks.
- Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities in a busy care environment.
- A hands-on, compassionate and professional management style.
- A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
- The ability to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
