Registered Manager – Children’s Residential Home

Location: Hyde, Greater Manchester
Salary: £53,000 – £62,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Careermakers Recruitment is currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager to lead a children’s residential home in Hyde.

This is an excellent opportunity for an established Registered Manager, or an experienced residential childcare professional with strong management experience, to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation of the home and lead a team in delivering consistently high standards of care.

The successful candidate will play a key role in developing the service, maintaining regulatory compliance and ensuring children and young people receive safe, nurturing and person-centred support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take overall responsibility for the effective management and smooth running of the home
  • Lead, supervise and develop the residential care team
  • Ensure compliance with Ofsted regulations, relevant legislation and internal policies
  • Maintain high standards of safeguarding and child protection
  • Oversee the development, implementation and review of individual care plans and risk assessments
  • Ensure effective approaches are in place to support challenging behaviour and emotional needs
  • Manage staffing levels, rotas, supervision and performance
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure high standards of quality assurance
  • Work collaboratively with social workers, families, education providers, health professionals and other external agencies
  • Support the recruitment, training and ongoing development of staff
  • Promote positive outcomes, independence and wellbeing for children and young people
  • Drive continuous improvement across the service

Candidate Requirements

The successful candidate will ideally have:

  • Previous management experience within a children’s residential setting
  • Strong knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Children’s Homes Regulations
  • A thorough understanding of safeguarding and child protection
  • Experience leading, supervising and developing residential care teams
  • Strong knowledge of care planning, risk assessment and behaviour support
  • The ability to manage challenging situations effectively and professionally
  • Excellent communication, leadership and organisational skills
  • A genuine commitment to improving outcomes for children and young people

Package

  • Salary of £53,000 – £62,000 per annum, dependent on experience
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • 40 hours per week
  • 28 days’ annual leave including bank holidays
