We are recruiting on behalf of a growing children's residential care provider in Nottingham who are looking for a passionate, experienced and driven Registered Manager to lead their new home.

The Package

  • £55,000 basic salary
  • OTE up to £60,800 through bonuses
  • £3,000 bonus for an Outstanding Ofsted rating
  • £1,500 bonus for a Good Ofsted rating

The Role

As Registered Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day leadership and development of the home, ensuring it operates to the highest standards and remains fully compliant with Ofsted, Children's Homes Regulations 2015 and the Quality Standards.

You will:

  • Lead the registration process and maintain ongoing compliance with Ofsted.
  • Build, lead and develop a strong, motivated residential care team.
  • Create a positive, nurturing and child-centred environment.
  • Ensure individual care plans support each young person's emotional, educational and social development.
  • Maintain robust safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Lead recruitment, training, supervision and performance management of staff.
  • Oversee rotas, budgets and the effective running and maintenance of the home.
  • Build strong relationships with local authorities, families, external professionals and other stakeholders.
  • Promote reflective practice, continuous improvement and professional development.
  • Prepare for and confidently lead Ofsted inspections.


About You

We are looking for an established residential childcare professional who has the leadership skills, regulatory knowledge and passion required to build an exceptional service.

You will ideally have:

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Services, or an equivalent qualification.
  • A minimum of 2 years' management experience within a children's residential setting.
  • A strong understanding of Ofsted regulations, Children's Homes Regulations and Quality Standards.
  • Experience of achieving positive Ofsted inspection outcomes.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding and child protection.
  • Strong leadership, communication and people-management skills.
  • The ability to remain calm, professional and empathetic when managing challenging situations.
