Children’s Home Registered Manager – Specialist Mental Health

Location: Newmarket Salary: £50,000–£65,000 DOE + £10,000 bonus + £5,000 welcome bonus

Hours: Full Time, Permanent (40 hours)

Diamond Search Recruitment are representing a leading children’s residential care provider seeking an experienced Registered Manager to run a specialist children’s home supporting young people aged 12–18 with complex mental health needs and high‑risk behaviours.

This is an excellent opportunity for a strong leader with experience in children’s residential care, Ofsted compliance, and trauma‑informed practice to step into a high‑impact role within a multi‑disciplinary setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a specialist home, ensuring high‑quality, safe care

• Drive Ofsted compliance with a target of achieving “Good” or above

• Develop personalised care plans and oversee therapeutic, emotional, and educational support

• Recruit, train, and develop a stable, high‑performing staff team

• Maintain strong safeguarding culture and respond to incidents effectively

• Work collaboratively with clinicians, teachers, parents, and Local Authorities

• Manage budgets and ensure commercial performance of the home

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in children’s residential care

• At least 1 year in a supervisory/management role

• Level 3 Residential Childcare (essential)

• Level 5 Leadership & Management (preferred or willingness to enrol)

• Strong knowledge of Quality Standards, SCCIF & safeguarding

• Experience supporting young people with emotional/behavioural or mental health needs

• Full UK driving licence
