About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced Care Manager to join an established and growing domiciliary care service in Manchester.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced adult social care professional with a strong background in domiciliary care and CQC-regulated services to take responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service, leading a dedicated care team and ensuring consistently high standards of person-centred care.
You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of safe, compliant and high-quality care, while developing staff, maintaining strong relationships with clients and families, and driving continuous service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the domiciliary care service, ensuring high-quality, person-centred care is consistently delivered.
-Lead, support and motivate a team of carers and care coordinators.
-Recruit, onboard and support care staff, ensuring all required right-to-work documentation, references, DBS checks and employment records are completed and maintained.
-Ensure the service remains compliant with CQC regulations, the Health and Social Care Act 2008 and relevant local authority requirements.
-Maintain strong working relationships with clients, their families, care professionals, commissioning teams and other external stakeholders.
-Monitor and review care plans and risk assessments, ensuring they remain accurate, personalised and responsive to changing needs.
-Conduct regular audits and quality checks, identifying areas for improvement and implementing appropriate actions.
-Support safeguarding processes and ensure concerns are managed appropriately and in line with legislation and organisational procedures.
-Ensure staff receive appropriate training, supervision and ongoing support.
-Oversee medication processes and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.
-Maintain a strong understanding of Mental Capacity, DoLS and safeguarding requirements.
-Contribute to the continued development and growth of the service.
-Ensure the service meets relevant commissioning and contractual requirements.
-Undertake any other duties reasonably required within the scope of the role.
About You
The successful candidate will have:
-At least 2 years' experience in a management role within adult domiciliary care.
-A Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care, or be actively working towards this.
-Alternatively, candidates with an NVQ Level 4 alongside relevant management experience and training may be considered.
-Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and the Health and Social Care Act 2008.
-A good understanding of safeguarding procedures and adult social care legislation.
-Knowledge of medication management, Mental Capacity and DoLS.
-A proven track record of delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
-Strong leadership and people-management skills.
-Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
-The ability to manage competing priorities within a busy care environment.
-A professional, proactive and compassionate approach to care management.
-A full UK driving licence.
Desirable
-Train the Trainer qualification.
-Safeguarding Adults Level 3.
-Experience working with local authority commissioning teams and frameworks.
