Registered Manager – Lead a Home with Strong Foundations

NG12 & NG13, Nottinghamshire
2-bed and 4-bed Children’s Residential Homes
Salary: Open, dependent on experience

Our client, a therapeutic residential childcare provider, is recruiting Registered Managers across NG12 and NG13, with opportunities available within both 2-bed and 4-bed children’s homes.

These roles are for experienced residential childcare professionals who want the autonomy to lead a home properly, while working within an organisation that recognises the importance of support, strong teams and sustainable leadership.

You’ll have the opportunity to develop your team, embed a therapeutic approach and create the stability and consistency young people need to feel safe, build trusting relationships and make meaningful progress.

About the Role:

As Registered Manager, you’ll lead the day-to-day running and development of your home, with responsibility for maintaining a safe, supportive and child-focused environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing calm, consistent leadership across the home
• Building, developing and supporting a strong staff team
• Providing effective supervision and supporting staff development
• Overseeing safeguarding, risk management and quality assurance
• Ensuring care planning reflects each young person’s individual needs
• Embedding a therapeutic approach across day-to-day practice
• Maintaining standards in line with Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards
• Developing effective partnership working around each young person
• Creating a culture where good practice is recognised and staff feel able to develop
• Working with the wider organisation to maintain quality, stability and positive outcomes

This is a leadership role with clear responsibility, but it isn’t about one person carrying the home alone. Strong residential care depends on a capable team, effective partnership working and an organisation that provides its managers with the structure and backing to lead well.

What Makes This Opportunity Different:

For our client, a successful Registered Manager isn’t simply someone who achieves compliance.

It’s someone who can create a stable home, retain good people and build a culture where young people experience consistent, high-quality care.

The therapeutic approach means care is individually tailored rather than one-size-fits-all, with the wider team working together around the needs of each young person.

You’ll have:

• The autonomy to develop and lead your home
• A choice of 2-bed or 4-bed services, allowing the opportunity to be matched to your experience and leadership style
• A therapeutic approach centred around individual young people
• Scope to build, develop and retain a strong staff team
• An organisation that values good leadership and staff development
• A role focused on creating stability rather than simply managing day-to-day pressures

About You:

Experience & Qualifications:

We’re interested in speaking with experienced Registered Managers as well as established Deputy Managers who are ready to discuss progression.

You’ll ideally have:

• A relevant residential childcare qualification at Level 3 or above
• Level 5 leadership and management qualification, or be working towards this where appropriate
• Strong experience within children’s residential care
• Experience supervising, developing and leading staff
• A good understanding of safeguarding and risk management
• Knowledge of Children’s Homes Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards
• Confidence working with professionals and partner agencies around young people

Personal Qualities:

• Calm, consistent and approachable as a leader
• Emotionally resilient and reflective
• Able to develop people rather than simply manage them
• Comfortable making decisions while knowing when to draw on wider support
• Values-led and focused on the experiences of young people
• Committed to creating a stable home and retaining a strong team

Why Join:

Registered Management should be a role experienced professionals can see themselves staying in and developing within.

This opportunity provides the autonomy to shape your home and lead your team, while being part of a therapeutic provider that recognises the importance of individually tailored care, staff development and consistency.

With both 2-bed and 4-bed homes available across NG12 and NG13, there is also flexibility to discuss which service best suits your experience, strengths and next career step.

Salary is open and dependent on experience, allowing the conversation to focus on finding the right manager for the right home.

If you’re already a Registered Manager looking for your next opportunity, or an established Deputy who feels ready to explore the next stage of your career, we’d be happy to have a confidential conversation.
