We are currently supporting the recruitment of an experienced and clinically focused Registered Manager to lead a well-established elderly nursing home in Cumbria. The service provides high-quality nursing, dementia and mental health care for older adults and is seeking a strong leader who is passionate about delivering outstanding person-centred care, driving regulatory excellence and creating a positive culture for residents and staff alike. Location: Cumbria
Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary: £75,000 per annum

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the nursing home in line with CQC regulations and legislative requirements
  • Ensure the delivery of exceptional person-centred care for elderly residents living with dementia and mental health conditions
  • Provide strong clinical and operational leadership across all departments within the home
  • Lead, motivate and develop a multidisciplinary team, promoting a positive and high-performing culture
  • Maintain excellent standards of governance, safeguarding, medication management and quality assurance
  • Take responsibility for occupancy, budget management and overall home performance
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, healthcare professionals and external stakeholders
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure the service remains inspection ready at all times
  • Support recruitment, retention and succession planning to build a stable and effective workforce
  • Promote a safe, welcoming and therapeutic environment that enhances resident wellbeing and quality of life



Required Skills & Experience

  • Current NMC registration as either an RMN or RGN is essential
  • Previous experience as a Registered Manager within an elderly nursing home environment
  • Strong knowledge of dementia care, elderly care and mental health support within a nursing setting
  • Excellent understanding of CQC regulations, safeguarding and clinical governance requirements
  • Proven track record of leading successful inspections and delivering service improvements
  • Strong clinical leadership skills with the ability to inspire and develop teams
  • Experience managing budgets, occupancy levels and overall service performance
  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care or equivalent management qualification
  • Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
  • Passionate about delivering outstanding outcomes for residents and creating a positive culture for staff
