Registered Nurse

Evolve Staffing Ltd is currently recruiting an experienced and dedicated Band 5 Endoscopy Nurse to join a highly regarded NHS Trust based in Shrewsbury.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a Registered Nurse (RGN) with endoscopy unit experience to work in a modern, patient-focused gastroenterology unit. Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment & Care: Prepare, assess, and admit patients undergoing diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures (e.g., Gastroscopy, Colonoscopy, Flexible Sigmoidoscopy, and ERCP).

• Procedure Room Support: Assist gastroenterologists, endoscopists, and surgical teams inside the procedure room, ensuring high standards of patient safety and infection control.

• Sedation & Monitoring: Administer prescribed conscious sedation and continuously monitor patient vital signs throughout endoscopic interventions.

• Recovery & Discharge: Manage post-procedure patient recovery, monitor for complications, and deliver clear post-operative discharge instructions and aftercare education.

• Scope & Equipment Management: Adhere to strict JAG (Joint Advisory Group) accreditation standards, COSHH guidelines, and scope decontamination protocols.

• Record Keeping: Maintain accurate, contemporaneous electronic and paper clinical records in line with NMC guidelines and NHS Trust policies.

Candidate Requirements

• Qualifications: Valid Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Registration with an active PIN (Registered General Nurse - RGN).

• Experience: Minimum of 6–12 months of post-qualification experience working within an NHS or private Endoscopy Unit or Acute Gastroenterology ward.

• Skills: Proficient in patient admission, procedure room assisting, sedation monitoring, and recovery care. (Cannulation/Venepuncture skills are desirable).

• Compliance: Up-to-date mandatory training, Enhanced DBS check on the Update Service, and full occupational health immunity clearance.

• Right to Work: Full right to work in the United Kingdom.
