Regulatory Compliance Officer
This is a crucial role in the R&D Product Stewardship function with responsibility for delivering all aspects of regulatory compliance for our products, with an operational focus for our Europe business unit. With expertise in Cosmetics regulations this role will monitor legislation change and will work closely with the wider business to ensure products are compliant from development, through to market launch and beyond.
Accountabilities:
- Ensure Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that all cosmetic products comply with local and international regulations, including ingredient safety, labelling, and packaging requirements.
- Expert Knowledge: Provides specialised knowledge of cosmetic regulations in different markets, ensuring the company stays ahead of regulatory changes and requirements.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works closely with R&D, Marketing, and Supply chain teams to ensure products are compliant from development through to market launch.
- Consumer Safety: Play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and efficacy of products via appropriate application of Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSR), consumer safety studies and the Cosmetovigilance process.
- Product Registration: Manage the registration of new products in various markets, ensuring all necessary documentation is complete and accurate.
- Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of compliance activities and prepare reports for regulatory bodies. Key documents include cosmetic Product Information File (PIF) and Pack Labelling: ensuring all regulatory information on the finished product label is compliant with global cosmetic labelling regulations for different markets through the artwork approval process.
- External relationships: Work with trade bodies, technical bodies and regulatory authorities to produce official documentation and certification in line with specific requirements.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, or a relevant discipline.
- A background in regulatory affairs, ideally within cosmetics or FMCG.
- Deep knowledge of UK and international cosmetic regulations.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with good interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and ability to manage own workload in a collaborative teamwork setting.
