Regulatory Reporting Assistant
Dudley Building Society
At Dudley Building Society, we're here to help people live better lives. As one of the UK's fastest-growing building societies, with a proud heritage and ambitious plans for the future, we're looking for a Regulatory Reporting Assistant to join our Finance team and support the accurate, complete and timely preparation of regulatory returns.
This is a great opportunity for someone who is confident with numbers, enjoys working with data and spreadsheets, and is keen to build technical knowledge of prudential reporting within financial services.
You'll work closely with colleagues across Finance, Treasury, Risk and data-owning teams to help maintain high-quality reporting data, operate clear controls and provide evidence that supports review, governance and regulatory obligations.
The role
As our Regulatory Reporting Assistant, you'll support the preparation and submission of assigned prudential, statistical and other regulatory returns, working to documented procedures and agreed timetables.
The role will include sourcing and validating data, completing reconciliations and variance analysis, maintaining a clear audit trail and supporting continuous improvement across regulatory reporting processes.
What you'll be doing
- Support the preparation and submission of assigned prudential, statistical and other regulatory returns, making sure work is completed accurately and on time.
- Source, validate and maintain regulatory reporting data, including mapping, extraction and controlled adjustments.
- Complete reconciliations, variance analysis and first-line validation checks, investigating unexpected movements and escalating issues where needed.
- Maintain procedures, process notes, data lineage and supporting documentation so evidence is clear, current and easy to review.
- Contribute to continuous improvement, automation and resilience across regulatory reporting while building effective relationships with key stakeholders.
- Completing ALCO reporting
What we're looking for
- Experience in finance, accounting, data analysis or financial services would be desirable, but the right attitude and willingness to learn are just as important.
- A good standard of numeracy and confidence using Excel, spreadsheets and data.
- Strong attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately and maintain clear records and supporting evidence.
- Someone who is organised, methodical and able to follow documented procedures and agreed deadlines.
- The confidence to ask questions, investigate anomalies and escalate issues promptly where required.
- An interest in prudential regulatory reporting, financial control, data quality and building society reporting requirements.
- An accounting, finance or relevant regulatory reporting qualification, or active study towards one, would be advantageous but is not essential.
