An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Regulatory Specialist to join a growing cosmetics and beauty business.
Reporting into the Regulatory Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring cosmetic products remain compliant across UK, EU, and international markets. This position is ideal for a regulatory professional with strong knowledge of cosmetic legislation who enjoys working closely with product development, marketing, and supply chain teams to support successful product launches.
The Role
As Regulatory Specialist, you will provide regulatory support across the product lifecycle, ensuring all products meet applicable cosmetic regulations and market requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Cosmetic Regulatory Compliance

Ensure compliance with UK Cosmetics Regulation, EU Regulation 1223/2009, MoCRA, and other applicable international cosmetic regulations

Prepare, maintain, and update Product Information Files (PIFs) for cosmetic products

Coordinate Cosmetic Product Safety Reports (CPSRs) and maintain supporting technical documentation

Review formulations and raw material documentation to ensure regulatory compliance

Assess ingredient compliance against restricted and prohibited substance requirements
-
Monitor regulatory developments and communicate potential business impacts
Artwork, Labelling & Claims Review

Review product artwork, packaging, labelling, and marketing materials for regulatory compliance

Assess product claims and supporting evidence to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and industry guidance

Provide regulatory guidance to marketing and product development teams throughout the product development process
Product Registration & Market Access

Support cosmetic product notifications and registrations in global markets

Maintain regulatory databases, submission records, and compliance trackers
-
Liaise with regulatory authorities, distributors, and external regulatory partners where required

Support market expansion activities by identifying and communicating regulatory requirements
Regulatory Support

Act as a key regulatory contact for internal stakeholders

Provide regulatory guidance during new product development projects

Assist with retailer and customer regulatory enquiries
-
Support internal audits and regulatory inspections as required
The ideal candidate will have:

Degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Life Sciences, Pharmacy, or a related scientific discipline

Minimum 3–5 years' experience within cosmetic regulatory affairs

Strong working knowledge of UK and EU cosmetic regulations

Experience managing Product Information Files (PIFs)

Experience reviewing cosmetic artwork, labelling, and product claims

Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience with MoCRA and US cosmetic regulations

Exposure to international product registrations and market notifications

Knowledge of APAC cosmetic regulatory frameworks

Experience using regulatory information management systems
