About the Role
As an RE Teacher, you will deliver engaging lessons that encourage critical thinking, discussion, and respect for diverse beliefs and cultures. You will support students in developing their understanding of religious traditions, moral issues, and philosophical questions.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality RE lessons aligned with the national curriculum
- Teach topics such as world religions, ethics, philosophy, and contemporary moral issues
- Encourage respectful debate and analytical thinking in the classroom
- Assess, track, and report on student progress
- Support GCSE Religious Studies
- Contribute to curriculum development and enrichment activities
- Promote inclusivity, tolerance, and cultural awareness
About You
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Degree in Religious Education, Theology, Philosophy, or related subject (Desirable but not required)
- Strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for RE
- Ability to engage students in discussion-based learning
- Commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing
- Willingness to contribute to wider school life
