Project Engineer - Remediation
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a specialist environmental and remediation team as a Project Engineer based in Leeds.
Salary: £40,000-£45,000, dependent on experience
About the Role
The Project Engineer will be responsible for assessing and scoping remediation and enabling works, providing technical reviews, preparing technical reports, and undertaking on-site technical assessments, including quality assurance and health and safety management. Working closely with the Project Manager and wider project team, the successful candidate will support the safe and efficient delivery of remediation projects.
Applicants should be degree-qualified, affiliated with relevant professional bodies, and have previous experience working on brownfield sites. A strong understanding of geoenvironmental engineering, remediation, and enabling works is essential.

Key Responsibilities
- Technical assessment and project scoping
- Data collection, sampling, and technical reporting
- Materials management planning and implementation
- Quality assurance and quality control
- Health and safety planning and compliance
- Project delivery and management support
About You
- Minimum 3-5 years' experience within geoenvironmental engineering or remediation
- Strong understanding of waste legislation and regulatory requirements
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Technical report-writing experience
- Knowledge of current industry guidance and technical developments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a geographically dispersed team
- Flexible approach to travel and project locations
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Experience managing remediation activities and subcontractors
- Good knowledge of brownfield land assessment and remediation
- Ability to assist with project budgeting and cost estimation
- Understanding of ground engineering and construction legislation
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS Card
