This growing environmental consultancy specializing in complex, large-scale infrastructure and remediation projects are looking to grow their senior team with the hire of a Senior Remediation engineer.

They are seeking a versatile Senior Consultant / Remediation Engineer or Manager who thrives as both a "doer" and a manager. You will bridge the gap between technical delivery and commercial management. You will oversee bids, price upcoming works, and manage on-site teams of consultants and subcontractors.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Delivery: Manage and deliver complex remediation schemes from inception to validation.
  • Commercial Tendering: Review incoming tender information, build accurate costings, and price works.
  • Team Leadership: Manage, mentor, and develop a small team of internal environmental consultants.
  • Subcontractor Management: Procure, oversee, and coordinate specialized subcontractors on-site.
  • Technical Oversight: Apply excavation methodologies and implement diverse remediation techniques.
  • Waste Management: Conduct waste soil classification and ensure strict regulatory compliance.
  • Business Growth: Identify new opportunities, with financial incentives tied to winning and delivering work.
  • Leadership: we are looking for the candidate to have the potential to be able to run this division or be part of the leadership team.

  • Technical Expertise: Proven experience handling Asbestos, PFAS, heavy metals, and hydrocarbons. Working on and delivering a wide range of remediation projects.
  • Waste & Excavation Knowledge: Deep understanding of waste soil classification and excavation techniques.
  • Commercial Acumen: Demonstrated experience reviewing tender documents and pricing remediation works.
  • Hybrid Skillset: A proactive "can-do" attitude, comfortable balancing office-based management with site delivery.
  • Mobility: Willingness to travel across the Southeast, Cambridgeshire, and occasionally UK-wide for major projects.
