Area / Shift Coordinator – Adult Social Care Staffing

Location: Norfolk/Suffolk — fully remote with occasional local travel
Salary: £25,000–£27,000 per annum
Hours: Full-time, with participation in a flexible out-of-hours/on-call rota
Sector: Adult social care and temporary staffing

We are supporting an established care provider with the recruitment of an experienced Area / Shift Coordinator following the award of a new adult social-care staffing contract across Norfolk and Suffolk.

This is a hands-on operational role combining shift coordination, recruitment, workforce planning, client management and compliance.

You will be responsible for ensuring care providers receive safe, reliable and appropriately experienced workers while also developing a strong local staffing pool across the region.

The position is fully remote, with occasional local travel required for recruitment activity, inductions, staff checks, meetings and visits to care services.

Essential experience

Applicants should have experience in one or more of the following:

  • Care coordination
  • Rostering or shift booking
  • Domiciliary care
  • Supported living
  • Residential care
  • Nursing or care agency staffing
  • Recruitment of care workers
  • Out-of-hours care operations

You must also have:

  • Knowledge of safe staffing, safeguarding and professional boundaries
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Confidence managing urgent requests and changing priorities
  • Sound judgement when allocating staff
  • Good IT and record-keeping skills
  • The ability to work independently from home
  • Flexibility to participate in the agreed on-call rota
  • An existing right to work in the UK

Desirable

  • Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care, Recruitment, Business Administration or a related subject
  • Knowledge of CQC requirements and safer recruitment
  • Experience recruiting across multiple locations
  • Previous use of rota, HR, applicant-tracking or care-management systems
  • Full UK driving licence and access to transport

Working arrangements

The organisation provides staffing support around the clock. The successful candidate will participate in an agreed flexible rota covering some evenings, nights, weekends and bank holidays.

Working hours, rest periods, time off and on-call arrangements will be structured and agreed. The postholder will not be expected to work continuously.
