Repairs & Maintenance Manager

Good Afternoon,

I am currently representing Arun District Council, who are offering an initial temporary contract for a period of 6 months at a rate which is negotiable dependent upon experience

We are looking for a Repairs & Maintenance Manager this role will be based at: ADC office Littlehampton 2-3 days in the office - BN17 5LF

The right candidate will:

Lead the delivery of a responsive, high-standard responsive repairs service for Arun District Council’s residents. Ensure service excellence through timely, "right first time" repairs, consistently meeting or surpassing performance targets.

• Oversee the effective management of void properties, ensuring swift turnaround times to minimise void rent loss. 
• Oversee and manage disrepair cases, ensuring compliance with relevant legal and legislative requirements. Ensure cases are progressed efficiently, lead on the compilation of necessary documentation, and represent the council by attending court proceedings as needed.
• Lead the execution of capital works, cyclical maintenance, and planned programmes in partnership with the Asset & Development Manager. This includes preparing comprehensive schedules, inviting tenders, ordering, supervising work ensuring quality outcomes.
• Maintain current and accurate records of the Council’s housing stock, tracking recent repairs and modifications. Ensure precise documentation of specialised equipment and fire protection assets for efficient asset management.
• Ensure that asset management decisions are informed by both qualitative and financial data, reflecting the Council’s objectives and stakeholder interests. Support shared responsibility for maintaining an accurate asset and liabilities register.

We require the following:

• Significant experience in managing repairs and maintenance services within the social housing or public sector, demonstrating strong leadership in an operational or strategic capacity
• Needs to be chartered or level 5 qualified to comply with the RSH  competency and conduct standards
• Proven experience managing in-house teams and external contractors to deliver high-quality, cost-effective maintenance services.
