Intec Select is supporting a large government-backed enterprise organisation undergoing a significant period of transformation and investment across its property and estates portfolio.
We are seeking an experienced Repairs & Maintenance Manager to take responsibility for the long-term and responsive maintenance of a substantial and varied property estate.
This is an exciting opportunity to join an organisation at a pivotal point in its transformation, helping modernise its approach to property maintenance, contractor management, asset information and service delivery.
The Role You will take ownership of the organisation's responsive and planned maintenance activities, managing internal resources and specialist external contractors across mechanical, electrical and building-fabric services.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Leading responsive and planned maintenance across a diverse property portfolio.
- Managing external maintenance contracts and annual budgets of approximately £3m.
- Managing and developing a multidisciplinary maintenance team.
- Overseeing procurement and performance of specialist contractors and suppliers.
- Developing planned maintenance programmes using condition survey and asset data.
- Establishing KPIs and driving improvements in contractor performance, quality and value for money.
- Providing technical assurance across M&E, building fabric and associated property services.
- Supporting the implementation of a modern Corporate Landlord operating model.
- Ensuring accurate property and maintenance information through CAFM and associated systems.
- Strong property, facilities, repairs or maintenance management experience.
- Experience within local government, wider public sector or a similarly complex property environment.
- Good technical understanding of M&E plant, building construction and the built environment.
- Strong procurement, contract and supplier-management experience.
- Demonstrable budget and team-management experience.
- Knowledge of health & safety and statutory property requirements.
- RICS, CIBSE or another relevant professional qualification/membership would be advantageous.
