Job Title: Research Data Administrator
Trust Location: Royal Devon University Healthcare NHS FT
Location: Bowmoor House, EX2 5AE
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday - Friday, 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm, Hybrid working will be available once you are fully trained and established in the role.
Duration: 4 Months
What you’ll be responsible for:
Job Summary:
Reporting to the Research Systems Manager the postholder will provide dedicated data entry and research systems support to assist with the implementation of new research systems and ways of working across the Research & Development Department. The post holder will support a data improvement project by accurately entering, updating and validating research activity data within EDGE and other research systems. The role has been established to provide additional capacity to address a significant backlog of research activity data, ensuring records are brought up to date and maintained to support reporting, performance monitoring and compliance requirements

2. Knowledge of the systems used, to effectively complete your role to the highest standard at all times
3. A sense of teamwork, gained through working alongside and supporting colleagues from all levels, within the organisation.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Accurately enter, update and maintain research study data within research management systems, including EDGE.
- Support the completion of data entry projects by processing high volumes of research information in a timely manner.
- Validate and check data for accuracy, completeness and consistency, escalating discrepancies where appropriate.
- Retrieve, organise and input information from source documents and electronic records into research databases.
- Assist with data cleansing, record maintenance and quality assurance activities to ensure data integrity.
- Generate and update reports from research systems as requested.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with information governance, data protection and Trust policies at all times.
- Work with the Research Finance and R&D teams to ensure research records are accurate and up to date.
- Use multiple computer systems and databases efficiently and accurately.
- Undertake other administrative and research data management duties commensurate with the role and pay band.
You’ll have the following skills/experience:
- Strong administrative and data entry skills
- Good IT knowledge, including Microsoft Office
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to manage a high volume of data efficiently
