Location – Cambridge

Salary – £60,000 – £120,000

Hexwired has partnered with an innovative technology company developing advanced solutions for complex engineering and scientific challenges. They are looking for a Research Engineer to join a multidisciplinary R&D team in Cambridge, working on cutting-edge technologies from initial research through to prototype development.

The Role

• Research and develop innovative solutions to complex scientific and engineering problems.
• Design, model and validate new concepts through simulation and experimentation.
• Develop prototypes and support technology through to manufacture.
• Work across multidisciplinary teams delivering advanced R&D projects.
• Present technical findings and provide recommendations to stakeholders.

Requirements

• Postgraduate qualification (MSc/PhD) or equivalent commercial experience in Physics or a related discipline.
• Strong background in one or more of the following: Quantum Technologies, Optics, Electromagnetics, Sonar & Acoustics, Semiconductor Physics, Thermal Systems, Fluid Dynamics or AI/ML Algorithms.
• Experience with computational modelling, simulation or experimental research.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently and within multidisciplinary teams.
